Life had been treating Andrew Rowe and his wife Agnieszka Szeliga well. Together the couple brought in approximately £85,000 a year through their work in the film industry.
They didn’t think of themselves as big spenders, but they splashed out on treats: long-haul holidays, gigs, theatre trips, and eating out on special occasions. And, of course, they could spoil their two-year-old daughter, Apolonia.
Andrew, 43, had worked as a boom operator on blockbuster films such as Rocketman, Paddington, Tomb Raider, and Les Mis for 20 years. In March, all this stopped. Lockdown came, the film industry shut down, and Andrew and Agnieszka, 42, are now living on £95 a week.
